The Numbers behind the Screen

Overwatch is a first person shooter game themed around fantasy. Its notable characteristics include the overall game design, a surreal, detailed illustration of a post-modern era, its lore and character backstories which add to the experience of the game by explaining abilities of heroes, leaving little need of the player’s suspension of disbelief, and its overall graphics, which are demanding, yet able to immerse the player into a mind-blowing world.

However, how can this game’s physics be analysed? How can the realism of the game be pushed further? What are the numbers behind each unique character? These are all questions I asked myself when making this site, and I decided to try and break down the entire game with the few numbers that are provided in the lore and developer updates of the game, such as Junkrat and Roadhog’s height and weight, Lucio’s heal radius, and certain heroes’ projectile speeds.

On this website, you will be able to find information on the physics behind the abilities pertaining to each hero, on a select few of the heroes listed on the Overwatch hero roster. However, characters not included include Reaper, Moira, Sombra, Symmetra and Mercy, as their overall abilities are very unrealistic and can’t be compared in any way to reality (i.e. resurrecting the dead, hacking people, teleportation). Click on one of the many hero tabs to find information pertaining to them, including videos, images, and primarily text posts.

And most importantly, I’m already Winston.
